Installation of Sybase sybsecurity database

Sybase Auditing:
Auditing in Sybase can be used to administer, protect data integrity and secure SAP ASE. Auditing information is stored in the database: sybsecurity. By default, auditing database is not installed. We have to install this using the script.

Pre-Installation Tasks:
1. Determine the size of the audit tables.
2. Decide on using single-table or multiple table auditing.
3. Create devices for audit tables
4. Create auditing database: sybsecurity

Step1: Create devices

disk init
name=’auditdevice01′,
physname=’/opt/sap/auditdev’,
size=’500M’

disk init
name=’auditlogdevice01′,
physname=’/opt/sap/auditlogdev’,
size=’100M’

Step2: Create sybsecuirty database

create database sybsecurity on auditdevice01=400
log on auditlogdevice01=80

Installation of Sybase sybsecurity database

Step3: Run the installsecurity script:
To complete the installation of Sybase sybsecurity database, we have to run the installsecurity script, which is located at /opt/sap/ASE-16_0/scripts

[root@localhost scripts]# isql -Usa -SServer_name -i installsecurity
