rmdir failed to remove directory not empty

When we try to remove a directory using a command the rmdir command, if we receive a prompt such as “rmdir: ‘dir’: Directory not empty”. This means directory contains, files and folder inside. To remove all files and folder inside directory, we have to use recursive option “rf” with rm command.

Note: Be careful about “-rf” option, once removed files and sub directories of directory cant be recovered.

Solution:

Use recursive option “-rf” with rm to directory with sub directory and files.

rm -rf hadoop
