Windows could not start the sql server on local computer

Generally we receive the following error message when we tried to start the SQL server.

Windows could not start the SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER) on Local Computer.
Error 1069: The service did not start due to a logon failure

If we change password of the SQL Server service account by domain administrator or sql server administration and this password information not updated in the SQL Server services, then the above error message will be generated.

Resolution: We have to update the same password in SQL Server services.

1. Click Start, point to all Programs, select Administrative Tools, and then click Services.
2. In the Services screen, right click the MSSQLSERVER service, and then select Properties.
3. In the MSSQLSERVER Properties dialog box, on the Log On tab, enter the new password and click apply.
4. Open the SQL Server Management Studio and connect to the SQL Server.
